Basis Bay’s Sustainable IT at Taylor’s University Expert Forum
Kuala Lumpur, 18 April 2019 – Basis Bay was recently invited to be a part of the Expert Forum organised by Taylor’s University to discuss Sustainable IT. The forum organised for the faculty of the School of Computing & IT as well as students from University of West England, Bristol was held at Taylor’s Lakeside Campus in Subang Jaya.
Dato’ Praba Thiagarajah, Group CEO, Basis Bay and Adjunct Professor at Taylor’s University was invited to speak on Sustainable IT: A Local Technopreneur's Global Journey. The session traced Basis Bay’s journey from a managed services technology provider to becoming a leading provider of Sustainable Cloud and IT Infrastructure Services through Dato’ Praba’s point of view as a technopreneur.
Dato’ Praba shared his vision of being a successful global player focused on the premium technology segment while operating within a sustainability philosophy. He shared that the early adoption of sustainable technology put Basis Bay ahead of the curve connecting with other green business conscious customers, who at that time wanted a partner with an identical approach and belief system.
Today, he noted the organisations are looking at sustainable IT practices to support their business critical and profitability requirements as they grapple with dynamic market demands and rising costs.
