Business Continuity Management is the process of developing advance arrangements and procedures which will enable an organisation to respond to an event in such a manner that the critical business functions continue without interruption or essential change.
Traditionally, this task has been assigned to IT professionals who's only concern is on the recovery of data centre services or better known as disaster recovery, without due consideration to issues such as critical business processes, risk analysis, investment decisions, etc.

The Methodology
Phase 1 :: Project Initiation
Determine and formalise project specification.
Phase 2 :: Assessments and Strategy
- Risk Assessment
- Business Impact Analysis (BIA)
- Define Recover Strategy
Phase 3 :: Designs and Development
Based on the strategies adopted in the previous phase, design and develop the recovery plan within the scope of the identified recovery facilities.
Phase 4 :: Testing and Implementation
Training and testing activities are performed at this stage to facilitate implementation of the plan.
Phase 5 :: Plan Maintenance
Processes and procedures are developed to aid in maintaining the plan to ensure currency.
